Holidays in Manhattan
I met up with my friends Xela and Ariel in NYC this year. New Years 2008. What a blast. I love
that town and I love these women. I’ll never forget that trip.

New Orleans, a wedding, an adventure….
I stayed a week after Bradley and Felicity’s Wedding to explore. The bride and groom grew up in New Orleans
and they had planned a location wedding elsewhere, but they felt they could bring some much needed economy
to the hurting city by celebrating within its beautiful, if wounded realm. I was able to drive through the worst
hit areas, it was awful. As a home owner, I can only guess what it was like to lose everything. We as a country
have been passing on saving that city for decades by underfunding the protective measures that were needed
to keep her dry. And way way way too many lives were lost. I was honored to be there, the town was amazing.

Bikes, rocks & crabs….
It has been one wet, dark winter. We that have lived here all of our lives know not to seek days of sunshine, but
moments of rainlessness. The air today had that feeling that it could actually dry something out, so I rode my
ten speed down to a nearby park and witnessed beach rocks with dry portions spreading from their tops. I’ve
always loved that. I also crashed some crab speakeasies that were secretly happening under some rocks.

An afternoon with Gabriella in Olympia
Ariel and I had the opportunity to walk around the lake with our friends dreamy daughter, Gabriella. She saw the ducks, people and sunshine. She wanted “up” and “down” and was adorable beyond my ability to describe.

Lovers and Fighters Photobooth
Micheal Jackson said he was a lover not a fighter, but for some, its all the same thing.
I was asked to help out at a fundraiser for Community Print, a non-profit organization
in Olympia – the theme? Lovers and Fighters Ball. Valentines 2007. Over the years I
have grown to love photobooths. I am still waiting for the adventurous couple to hire me
to run one at a wedding.

Mother and Son birthed at same time.
In the spring, good people are born. My father and Ariel treated my mother and I to a meal at the Pink Door on a lovely spring evening. Cherry blossems blew down Pikes Alley as we approached the sunken restaurant. Two bottles of wine later, and we were all feeling like it was our birthday. All we had was a cell phone camera. My apologies.
